Welcome to Copmanthorpe’s biggest party venue! At The Rec, we pride ourselves on quality service that guarantees you a party that will be unforgettable and enjoyable for everyone. With three function rooms, we can host a huge variety of events - from kid’s parties, wedding receptions, milestone birthdays, awards ceremonies, celebrations of life, and everything in between. All of our function rooms are wheelchair-accessible. Read on below to find out more of what we offer.

The main bar offers a cosy yet spacious feel for any sort of party at The Rec for a live band or DJ, as well as having a projector screen that can be used for karaoke or picture slideshows. This room offers multiple screens for live sports as well as the full main bar and direct access to The Terrace.

This space is also perfect for daytime functions, with a light and spacious feel to the room. Some examples of daytime functions that we host are: Christenings, baby showers, wakes, corporate events/meetings, and many more. We work closely with local small businesses to bring you ideas for decorations, food and entertainment.

Our whole site is wheelchair accessible, and have accessible toilets as well as baby changing facilities.

The Main bar is best for parties for up to 80 guests. If you are interested in booking the Main Bar for your next event, please get in touch.

Snug Bar

The Snug Bar offers a cosy space for smaller gatherings, with plenty of space to still sit, chat and socialise. You can make use of the games facilities in the snug bar, including the pool table and darts. Our pool cover offers room for tabletop games to enjoy, and is often a space used for small family celebrations as well as friend group bookings for evening events.

The Snug Bar is best for gatherings of up to 35 guests.

This room also offers direct access to The Terrace, with a view onto the playing fields which is home to Cricket in summer and Football in winter. In the colder months there is coverage under The Terrace with infrared heating to ensure that you can stand outside and not get caught in the cold!

The Hall

The biggest. The best. Our Function Hall is the place to be for parties. With a top capacity of 200 guests and a fully private bar included, this hall will give you a night to never forget for a celebration!

The Function Hall is regularly used for live bands and DJ’s for functions such as milestone birthdays and evening celebrations of life. We are also no strangers to large-scale charity events, so if you would like to discuss this with us please do get in touch.

Since improvements to the Hall in 2023 which saw new floor carpeting and wall soundproofing, we have welcomed a huge amount of parties and functions through our doors. Rated 5* on Facebook Reviews, you can be sure to only receive the best from us at Copmanthorpe’s biggest party venue.

Looking for a local venue for your child’s birthday party? You have found the perfect place at The Rec! Our huge library of party suppliers provide an incredible variety in party packages, themes, and activities that create the perfect party. Our spaces are accommodating for all attending parents too, with plenty of seating in the bar & hall, as well as hot drinks being served & a full bar open.

Mixing reptile fun with educational learning about a variety of animals, this has proven to be a huge hit for kids parties at The Rec already!
