At The Rec we provide one of the most versatile sites in Copmanthorpe and surrounding areas, from weekly sporting sessions such as Pickleball, to function rooms for the perfect party with a capacity of up to 200 people in our largest room. Since being under new ownership in 2022, we have made many changes and improvements across all elements of The Rec that have improved the way we work as a public sports bar, function room, and sports hall. SPORTS BAR
Our Licensed Sports Bar opens every day of the week, and is the clubhouse for multiple football and cricket teams based on the Recreation Centre on which our building is based. With multiple HD screens as well as a large HD projector screen, we are able to show multiple sports matches and programmes throughout the day and night. You can catch any sports matches on Sky Sports, TNT, and Freeview, as well as Amazon Prime Premier League matches over the Christmas period.
The Sports Bar is open to the public and includes a wide variety of drinks at competitive prices, such as a range of lagers, ciders and cask on tap, spirits, wines, and soft drinks, as well as bar snacks.
SPORTS HALL
The Sports Hall is the hub of exercise and sporting activities in Copmanthorpe & surrounding villages. Our 2 badminton court sized hall hosts a range of sporting activities for all ages, such as Kids Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Pickleball, Fitness Training, and many more.
In 2023 our completed sports hall improvements including new flooring, acoustic sound panelling, and brand new equipment for a variety of sports such as Fitness Training, Football, and Pickleball.

FUNCTION ROOMS
At The Rec, we take pride and passion in making your event a day or night to remember. Due to our multi-use spaces, we are able to cater for large events, with our biggest room having a 200 person capacity alone.
Wether you’re looking for rooms to hire for birthday parties, wedding receptions, wakes, corporate events or anything inbetween, we are sure to be able to facilitate it at The Rec. Our large function room that is fully carpeted also includes a fully equipped private bar which can be tailored for your event.
We also use a mobile bar that is fully equipped with 4 taps and 1 cask ale pump, that can be brought to a venue of your choice. More of what we offer on private functions can be found on the functions page.
