At The Rec we provide one of the most versatile sites in Copmanthorpe and surrounding areas, from weekly sporting sessions such as Pickleball, to function rooms for the perfect party with a capacity of up to 200 people in our largest room. Since being under new ownership in 2022, we have made many changes and improvements across all elements of The Rec that have improved the way we work as a public sports bar, function room, and sports hall. NEW FOR 2025 -Halloween Quiz Night raising money for Martin House Children’s Hospice. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd with a guaranteed £100 drop on cards bingo, split 50/50 between the winner & Martin House. £1pp entry.
RETURNING EVENT - Our free Kids Halloween Disco is not to be missed this year. DJ & games master DJ Ollie takes to the decks, and free facepainting available. Fancy dress is a must!

Copmanthorpe Sports Club (The Rec) have been nominated for the YorkMix Choice Awards 2025 for “Best Business or Organisation for Giving Back”. At The Rec one of our main focuses is giving back to the community, through free kid’s/family events, raising money for local user groups such as Cop FC & Cop Cricket Club (over £2,000 raised between them so far!), and charity work supporting local charities.
